His Story

ARTIST Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Abel left his homeland at the age of 3. He traveled the world as a child, visiting and living in several countries before settling in the United States at the age of 10. He once said in an interview "most people travel the world later in life, but the fact I got to see the world as a kid gave me a global perspective going into experiences early in my life. It was like a cheat code because I could literally find something in common with everyone I met." His family settled in Alexandria, VA when he was 12 and that is the place he has called home since. Raised on 90s rap music, Abel cites Jay-Z, Nas, 50 Cent, and Eminem as some his biggest artistic influences. He is widely recognized for never writing lyrics down and prides himself for not using any profanity in his lyrics. ENTREPRENEUR Abel is also serial entrepreneur who has founded multiple technology startups including EULAV , an AI-powered business operating system that this very website is built on.
